The Northern Junior Golf Tour ran their first Junior Open at Dinsdale Golf Club on Thursday 27th August which was a huge success. The event, also used as a fundraiser for the RNIB, saw 140 juniors participate in an 18 hole and 9 hole event with players travelling from all over the North region to play.
Jason Budd, Northern Junior Golf Tour Director said; “We had to cancel the full Tour this year due to Covid-19 but still wanted to run something when and if it was safe to do so. We worked closely with Perry and Max from Dinsdale Golf Club who are big ambassadors for Junior Golf and delivered a fantastic event which was well received by all of the competitors. The Junior Open also helped us raise money for the RNIB, a charity close to my families heart, which totalled £700 so it’s great to be able to give something back for all the support they offered my younger brother Martin many years ago.
I’d just like to say a big thanks to everyone at Dinsdale Golf Club for making the event happen, all of the parents and juniors who participated and Mike Greener for all of his hard work on the Tour.
We are now finalising details for the 2021 Tour which are on our website now and will be also announcing our new series shortly aimed at Under 18’s taking place at several venues across the North region”.
