pJGT Rookies Tour 2025

The Rookies Tour is our 9-Hole Tour, which is open to boys and girls aged 6-12 years old on 1st January 2025.

Junior Golfers have the opportunity to play in a series of professionally ran events, led by a team of passionate individuals, in a fun and friendly environment. Each event uses live scoring technology via the Golf Genius app to track the scores, performance and provides a hole-by-hole account within each division.

We see this as a real family affair, so encourage parents, family and friends to enjoy the day and soak up the scenery at some of the most picturesque golf courses in the UK. Our focus within the Rookies Tour is primarily on the beginner golfer who is developing their game and would like to participate in a fun and structured tournament.

How it works?

Entry is open to Junior Golfers with and without an official handicap, as each Junior Golfer is split into one of the following Divisions:

Boys (Ages 6-7 years) Blue Tees

Boys (Ages 8-9 years) Blue Tees

Boys (Ages 10-12 years) Red Tees

Girls (Ages 6-9 years) Blue Tees

Girls (Ages 10-12 years) Red Tees

*NB – Divisions are subject to change based on entry numbers.

Tees

The tee sets for the 9-Hole events are played predominately from forward tees to make the experience more fun for all Juniors. For example, all Par 5’s would be no longer than 250 yards, Par 4’s at approximately 200 yards and Par 3’s under 150 yards. The players in the 10-12 years division would play from the Red tees (or equivalent colour), which would be on a rated course for handicap purposes.

Order of Merit

Each golfer plays within their relevant division in a Gross competition throughout the season. Players accrue Order of Merit points based on their finishing position after each event, with the best five scores counting towards the Grand Final. For example, if a player enters 14 events then the best five scores will be used in that divisional Order of Merit. Players are permitted to play in as many events as they wish but only their best five scores will count towards the Order of Merit.

Grand Final 2025

The top 8 Golfers will qualify from each Division to play in our Grand Final which will take place on Saturday 13th September 2025 at Thonock Park, Lincolnshire.

Cost

Each event is £19.99 for non-members. 10% discount for PJGT 2025 Members.
